| [Stop
wasting CD recordables] [3 easy steps for Windows 95] Tips for
all |
1 | Before recording: do a defragmentation of the hard disk. |
| 2 | Before recording: Close all other programms (Norton Utilities, Fax, Anti virus software, etc.)! | |
| 3 | Before recording: Restart the
operating system (the longer it is running the likelier
it will get instable.) Better yet, shut down the computer, turn power off and wait a few seconds before turn the machine on again. Some SCSI devices need a real power off to reset. |
|
| 4 | Test first (using your software's test function). Do the recording only if the test is passed. | |
| 5 | Forget multi-tasking: don't do anything else on your computer. | |
| 6 | If there are problems: reduce speed (from 4x to 2x, from 2x to 1x). | |
| 7 | If nothing else helps: create a virtual image. Then record from this image (and if you still have problems: reduce speed). | |
| 8 | If you really want to avoid problems, use SCSI hard disks. | |
