picture below (taken from a german version of
Windows 95, hope you don't mind): Enter the size
of the virtual memory manually. The clue: enter
the same values for minimum and maximum
size, which will cause virtual memory to keep a
fixed size. (What value? Best guess is to double
the amount of physical RAM you have, e.g. if you
have 16 MB physical RAM, enter 32 MB virtual
memory).

To get to this
setting, choose from Start: Settings
/ Control Panel / System.In System, choose Performance
Properties (should look like picture below,
but in english), then choose virtual memory
(button down right).
